What to Expect at The Backyard
Our "Backyard" is where we have our play areas and additional animals such as donkeys, yaks, ostrich, emus, ducks, peacocks, and more!
An adult must always accompany all children under the age of 16 for both the backyard and our inflatables. There are no exceptions to this safety rule.
Schedules and Pricing:
The Backyard is open when our Farm Stand is open.
This area is open and free to visit during regular hours on Wednesday and Thursday for individuals and families who are shopping in our farm stand or enjoying ice cream. If you are interested in bringing your group, whether a home-school group, a scouts group, or other, please email heidi@lilachedgefarm.com about group pricing for visiting The Backyard.
Wristbands for entrance are required for all visitors age 2 and up from 3:00 pm - sundown on Friday.
On Saturdays and Sundays, wristband purchases are required all day from 11:00 am to sundown.
Wristbands are $2.00 and may be purchased at our Farm Store or at the gate of the Backyard (cards, cash and Apple Pay available).
Annual household family passes ($40) can also be purchased for full access for a calendar year.
The Jump Pad
When our Jump Pad is open in the Backyard, the fee is $5.00 per participant. Your purchase allows for all-day come-and-go access during advertised open hours.
Our inflatable operating hours will vary on weekends and will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Typically, in favorable weather, the Jump Pad opens one hour after the farm does and closes at sundown.

Why is there a fee to access The Backyard?
The Backyard is where we have some or more exotic and unique animals. They are not production animals and are a large expense to our business to keep them housed, fed, and cared for. The fee to access The Backyard helps us keep these animals and maintain their health and happiness. We understand part of the fun of coming to the farm is seeing animals. To accommodate that we allow free entrance to The Backyard all day on Wednesday and Thursday as well as Friday until 3pm. Additionally, we have animals you can visit during any regular open times without a fee, including our camel, goats, sheep, and cows.
Can my dog come with me into The Backyard?
For the safety of our animals and proximity to our pens, no dogs may enter The Backyard at any time. This includes the area where our inflatables are due to high traffic areas. Well-behaved pups are welcome on leash with their responsible owners in many areas of the farm, but The Backyard and Farm Stand are off-limits for health and safety reasons. en
Why can't my 12-year-old go in without an adult?
We require adult supervision of all minors under 16. Although we'd love to allow young teens to enter without supervision, some poor behavior has been observed, including injury to our animals, damage to our property, and picking on younger children. All children must be with an adult to ensure everyone is properly supervised and safe.
When is the Jump Pad open?
We endeavor for them to be available during Friday evenings 5-7, Saturdays 12-7, and Sundays 12-5. That said, each day depends on weather, private rentals, and staffing availability. Please check out social media pages for real-time updates.
